A Statement from the Brodsky Fund
We the board of the Brodsky Fund are devastated by the current assault on Ukraine, the loss of life and security for so many, and the grievous harm done to the comity of peoples. We condemn the Russian invasion and yearn for peace and a return to conditions that allow for nourishment of the shared higher calling of art that animated our founding. We are making a donation of a portion of the funds that were raised for our programs for the sustenance of the Ukrainian people. Our fund was founded in 1996 on an elevating shared commitment of writers and artists around the world to a common world culture.
Update (March 11, 2022): The Brodsky Fund has now made contributions to several organizations providing emergency relief to writers and artists within Ukraine and resettling elsewhere, as well as individual emergency grants to a number of writers and artists affected by the crisis.
